And of course, I thought, well, am I going to do this?

Am I going to do this career?

And everybody around me said, you're not staying.

You need to get on this yacht.

This is really you.

So go.

Go on a sabbatical.

The first part was a friend had his own yacht, quite a small one, I think 20, 28 feet, 29 feet long, and he wanted to go to the Caribbean.

It was a dream of his, so friends of his helped him get over there, and then he sailed back.

But I stayed...

And very quickly realized that boats 60, 70, 80 feet long need crew.

They need strong, reliable crew.

So I was offered a job on a 60-footer and then very quickly offered a job as mate on a maxi, maxi yacht.
