All of these were created by drawing lines because when you have a nation state, you have to have boundaries somewhere, and no one knows what the right boundaries are, and humankind doesn't really fit in its sects and ethnicities doesn't fit these lines. But that's the way nation states are supposed to exist. You can't have no borders.
