And, you know, even the greatest players, the best players I've been around, you know, future hall of fame players, either coached or played with, there's some in that clubhouse right now, those players, um,
don't feel like they've arrived.
They're still coming, right?
They are still going.
And they want to evolve.
They want to get better.
And they're just not happy.
Typically, the best players aren't happy with just where they're at.
In fact, my least favorite phrase is, this is just who they are.
That's a lazy quote from a coach.
So that is not what I want.
That's not what I expect.
And I think the players will know that coming from me and my staff.
Yeah, there's a couple people.
Tony La Russa is obviously number one on the list.
I asked him a few years ago, if I manage one day, what are the things that I have to think about and kind of the non-negotiables.
He said, when you make a move, trust your gut.
Don't make a move to cover your butt.
That was pretty good.
The next one and probably the most important one is be really good at hiring.
