Hey, hey, hey, hello, hello, my friends.
Welcome back to another edition of English Makes No Sense, the podcast where we have fun, hopefully with the English language one lesson at a time.
And today I am your host.
Well, I'm always your host, SL Rockfish.
And today we are going to talk about interrupting.
Interrupting.
interrupting.
Sure, interrupting feels rude, but in English, it's quite normal.
The key is how you interrupt.
There are polite phrases native speakers use, such as, sorry to interrupt, but... Or, can I jump in for a second?
That sounds pleasant.
You're not really jumping in, but you know.
Or, just to clarify,
Notice the soft, calm, respectful tone.
You don't need to apologize a lot.
You don't need perfect grammar.
Interrupting politely shows confidence and not rudeness.
If you stay silent, people assume you agree.
Your voice matters at work.
