So they'll help you remember that specific thing that you need to remember for that game or they'll help your memory in general?
As an aside, I spent a lot of time on those games because my working memory is one of the things I struggle with the most.
And I had very high hopes.
And I got really good at those games.
Yeah.
But doesn't transfer.
Well, I don't mind forgetting my car keys.
It's just forgetting my train of thought.
The thing is, especially for parents, when you know your kid is struggling, there's all these opportunities.
Everyone's saying, pick me.
My thing is going to change your kid's life.
And you're like, well, I better do it.
There's a lot of snake oil salesmen.
But then, I mean, it depends what you look at as symptoms.
If the parent is calmer around the child and sort of, I don't know what the specific training was, but understands how to de-escalate situations or co-regulate or whatever, then there would be less symptoms, wouldn't there?
I think the overall message from this is that ADHD doesn't need curing.
In fact, it proves that the impulsivity and forgetfulness and disorganisation is part of the beautiful chaos of ADHD.
It's not behaviour.
But in many cases, we need ways to make these lives more manageable for the kids and adults with ADHD and for their families.
So what is the best approach?
