Putting as much time and distance between them and the threat as possible or hiding in the corner and hoping they don't get hurt?

I know that I'm teaching my kids to run.

I hope you do the same.

Because they're not going to chase you because they got what they want.

But there is no point in handing it to them.

So now you're giving them an opportunity to get more from you.
