So the Carnegie's are the UK's longest running children's book awards for children through to young adults.
There's one award for writing and one for illustration and books could possibly be nominated for both.
Several features make the Carnegie's unique.
So the fact that all the books are nominated by librarians, judged by librarians.
So it means that each eligible book is judged purely on its own merits against an objective set of criteria.
And every judge reads every book.
And the panel comprises of 14 judges drawn from the CILIP, which is the Professional Association for Librarians, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.
So it's truly representative of the whole United Kingdom.

And that's a really interesting question, actually, because obviously, yes, I'm passionate about books.
But I have to say, I think each of my fellow judges as well is equally passionate.
So we try to be very objective about things and take our passion and emotion out of it.
But yet there are there's a lot of laughter, a lot of rigorous debate there.
And sometimes tears, it has to be said.
So I'm going to start with Everyday Nature and How Noticing Nature Can Quietly Change Your Life.
So nature really grounds me that I grew up in the days when children could go out to play for the whole day and then be back in time for tea at five o'clock.
The South Downs were my backyard, really.
