I mean, in the League One promotion season, he was a squad player, wasn't he?
He was in and out of the team.
He didn't play that much.
Always did OK when he was called upon.
But last season, started to become more regular.
I remember us talking very early on here about the idea of him being played at right back.
It was a bit of a head scratcher at first, wasn't it?
But it's worked very well.
And he's now, you know, if there was now a lineup that came out without Devlin in it, you'd be demanding to know why he wasn't in it, wouldn't you?
And so would he, probably, the way he's played.
He's a player of the season contender.
I'm glad we didn't need to sell him.
And I imagine if Wrexham come back in the summer and offer twice as much, hopefully we still won't need to sell him.
And hopefully he's happy here and stays here long term.
As the owners have said, part of their model is to buy young players that can be developed and improved and they become assets that you can make a profit from.
