Rebounding rate last year was an issue, 28th in the NBA, 21st this year, so still not great. But again, pre-Chet, who knows? Their clutch defense, despite having this defensive profile, they're 25th in clutch D. So the point is, what does that mean? In the clutch, they choke defensively.

I think sometimes those clutch numbers can be a little weird, especially when they've played a league-low 16 clutch games, which is 20 less than what Houston has played, most of the NBA 36. Number two seed Memphis, offense 5, defense 9. Last year, 30th on offense, defense 12th. Really, the headline for me on them is a bit like, okay, there's a lot you like.

Do you take them serious as far as coming out of the West? The answer is probably not. I would put them below Denver, and we'll get to Denver here in a second. The start of the season for Memphis, and there's been some in-and-out rotational stuff that we've all been aware of, 8-7 to 38-20 overall record. So this is a team that's been playing at 30-13.

The shooting numbers, well, they were 29th in the NBA in shooting last year as far as three-point shooting. They're 7th this year. And can we get some love for Santi Aldama? The advanced stuff, he's a completely different guy. And when you watch him, whether it's this offense, whether it's his confidence, all the little stuff that he does, I just think he's a really good player, man.

But statistically, the profile tells you he's a completely different dude as well. We all know that I love Jaron Jackson. Ja, it's still not peak Ja. It's been three years since he's made over 31% of threes in a season. I still hold out hope that we can see some version of Pete Jock because that changes what you think their ceiling is as a team.

And so I think it's just a point of pointing out what we're seeing now and the hope that it can come back at some point. They're also a team that may have to go small here. In the playoffs, there's a lot of teams that I kind of have on. They will they go small with their best unit look and how does that play out in the playoffs?

Because if you look at their minute dispersal here, 87 at 20 minutes a game and he's their only big that's at 20 minutes a game. So that's just something to think about. I like the depth, but the ED part and some of the victory lap of like, hey, they drafted him. And my thing was like, OK, it's not like he's bad, but you might just be drafting a role player in the lottery.
