And that was their favorite films.

They just loved that.

And Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire and Sid Charisse and Donald O'Connor, Debbie Reynolds.

I mean, that was... I never saw Singing in the Rain in a movie theater.

I saw it on television when it came on television, but...

But I saw a funny face at a drive-in.

You know, there's a lot of things that I saw in first-run theaters.

And that's, in a way, what drove me to make West Side Story eventually.

My dad's favorite movie of mine was taping Private Ryan because my dad's of the greatest generation.

He fought in World War II, and that was his generation.
