It's about mental well-being, the capacity to refresh, and being a better coach.
And on the outside, we have to frame more mature conversations rather than the hot take nonsense around that.
And I think, and you're exactly right, Gerard.
I think, and I can remember, the most I took off, I think, was that period around late December when you break for Christmas.
And then you come back first or second, third of January type thing where the players have a CBA.
So the players association have a CBA mandated time off.
The umpires have a CBA where they have mandated time off as well.
The coaches are a bit different.
They'll just keep working.
They'll just keep pushing themselves to the absolute limit.
So when players are on a break,
The coaches are preparing for the draft.
They're having exit meetings with players and they're preparing for the next season.
And so, yeah, I think we can all support each other a little bit better.
And I think the coaches have got to be better as well.
I mean, that's the number one part is too, is having those mature adult conversations with the club saying, I need to have a bit of a breather and that be seen as being something that is allowed and also applauded.
You're in the role.
You need to inspire these conversations.
