I mean, there are a lot of writers whose work I really like, but those are the ones I think I...
If I was filling out some form or if you had to take a book to a desert island, I would take War and Peace because you could just keep reading it forever.
Presumably you're going to be there by yourself until the end of your life or something.
A book by the name of a Canadian writer from Newfoundland named Michael Crummy, unfortunately.
But his book is called The Innocents, plural, two people, two innocents.
First, the use of language is extraordinary.
He uses their language, which isn't standard English at all, and has many invented words.
But then the story itself is really astonishing.
It's about two young children in a very primitive world who are left alone.
sort of way of learning about life with just the two of them and no instruction in anything, thus the innocence.
So I'm reading now another book by him called Galore, which is very different.
I mean, I'm very interested in pursuing him because these two books are, they both are sort of set in the same universe, but at very different times.
And they're just very different one from another.
It's sort of thrilling to just find someone you've never heard of.
