I'll give a high-level answer to be actually successful, depending on whether you're hands-on within AI building models yourself or not.
There are three things I think are super important.
One is
Having that tech background, having a common understanding of what AI really is, it always helps.
Not everyone needs to have the details and algorithms and how models work, not needed.
But having that basic understanding always is good.
Then you know exactly how to gauge what AI is really doing.
