If the family doesn't support that, we are really, really intentional about working with the family, communicating with them, providing care and support, explaining it, and helping them through that whole process and honoring their loved one's gift.
That's a really important part of the process that really everybody should know.
And just we want them to know if you are registered, you know, we will do everything we can to make sure that that decision is fulfilled.
So for organ donation, we're part of, we're what's called an organ procurement organization.
We're regulated by the federal government, but we're not a government agency.
And we each are responsible for a designated service area.
I mean, it's entirely possible we have a donor in Minneapolis.
and maybe one organ's gonna go to Rochester, but another is gonna go to Chicago and maybe yet another is gonna go to Texas.
So we're always in communication with each other every day.
It's really an amazing network of collaboration and it was built that way intentionally.
So organ donation, I think there's been very rare instances where maybe we've shared kidneys or something with Canada when there's no recipient in the United States, but that's extremely rare.
Tissue and eye donation is more international.
We've really met the need for cornea donation in this country.
