It doesn't work for people who are in prison and they're both, they're both interrelated.
They're not one or the other.
And, you know, women especially are really disadvantaged after being incarcerated.
And it's often very just arbitrary stuff that they are going to prison for.
And so I just wanted to shift that narrative.
And then the other reason I, you know, the other message I wanted to get out was that
women, like I wanted women in prison to see me on that stage and like see part of themselves in me, or at least see that I've been in prison and that is possible.
And I'm not like a, I'm not like just one, like there's lots of us.
Yeah.
I mean, I always, I'm really careful.
Like I don't, I don't want to speak on behalf of, but I do like we get, I get told stories and you know, like people trust me with their narrative and with, with their, you know, with their most deepest, darkest things and give me permission to share on their behalf.
And it
brings a bigger picture.
Like it brings a broader narrative than just my own story because it is more than just me.
And I always like, I'm really careful.
Like I don't wish to speak on behalf of anybody, but if, if you see yourself in me, then I think the message is kind of the same for all of us is that this isn't working.
I mean, it's weird because I live and breathe this stuff.
So I'm like, I think about it all the time.
But more and more I do this, the more I realise, no, we don't really think about it because if it doesn't impact us, why would we consider it?
Yeah.
