Well, I actually, I don't think I read straight dark academia as it's known because I feel like dark academia within fantasy has become its sort of own subset.
Like I haven't read, say, like The Secret History or anything like that, but grew up reading things like Vampire Academy and very like fantasy-esque stories set in this kind of school setting.
And so things more like Catabasis and Babel and those sorts of books, I think are more up my alley, which is great with dark academia because it kind of crosses the realm from kind of more modern stories to fantasy.
Yeah, like you see magical schools in every fantasy book ever.
I mean, not literally.
Don't fact check me on that.
But it's such a pivotal thing.
Like even in kind of I know Emma Wong's other book, Sword of Kaigen, is more high fantasy, but there's also a fantasy school in that.
And then, I mean, everything from Percy Jackson to like even R.F.
Kuang's kind of more high fantasy.
The Poppy War has a school in there as well.
