So after eight hours of deliberating, they can be given a more formal direction.
Just to say, you know, it's important that you go into the jury room and really consider this evidence as a whole and try and come to a unanimous decision.
It's very similar to what they're told at the beginning of their deliberations, but there is an official direction that they can be given.
Basically, they just need to take their time and not try and rush to a verdict.
So there was a second note to the judge on the second day of deliberations, which did point to this idea that they were probably struggling with the consideration of Tara's evidence.
They asked if they could watch a large portion of her testimony again.
And this does happen sometimes in trials at the end when juries are deliberating, they want to see some things again.
This took some hours, so there was a number of things that they wanted to re-listen to that she said.
They were eventually sent home again at the end of that day, and they did tell the judge that they were well entrenched in their deliberations.
They said that they just don't think that they can come to a unanimous decision.
We know ultimately, as you said, they did come to their verdict on the third day they deliberated.
So we can probably safely assume that evidence they rewatched did help them get to that decision.
I think it certainly would have left them with a lot to think about.
It was interesting to me that it wasn't brought up earlier in the trial.
Even the judge commented on the fact that it wasn't raised during the opening addresses when the jury wasn't present.
But look, Stockie, there was so much that came out during this trial.
The jury had to consider a lot.
I don't envy them.
It was a very big task.
