I find their pub life to be a lot like Australian pub life.
I really like it.
I feel very comfortable and very at home.
There's a similar kind of beer drinking, merry, leg pulling sort of culture that we have in Australia as well.
I find the culture is very similar to ours and I feel very comfortable in that.
Do you feel the same?
Yes.
And it's because a bit like London, the UK generally, where people lived in very small apartments,
the pub would be where they would go to meet their friends.
It's where they'd go and have dinner if they want to go out.
It wasn't let's go out somewhere.
It was we live in this tiny apartment.
We want to see our friends.
We go down to the pub.
There was always a guitar.
There was very often a fire in wintertime.
In summer, the windows would be open and you'd have all the beautiful birdsong outside.
And then you didn't order a beer, a pivo.
You'd sit there and it comes to you.
