So you met a man in Prague named Karel.
Tell me about this man, Karel.
He quoted poetry.
He played songs on his guitar.
He had the most... He's that guy?
Right.
That guy.
He used to tell jokes, jokes all the time about the old regime.
He was so charming and he was so greatly loved.
And I just felt incredibly safe with him.
And he invited me to come and stay with him.
And
I wasn't sure about that, but then I discovered actually this free-spirited, fun guy was actually a grandfather.
He had daughters and... A grandfather?
A grandfather.
He had two daughters and a daughter.
They all married very young in Czechoslovakia and he'd been divorced for many, many years.
And one of his daughters lived with him and another lived nearby.
