We want to stay here.
We want to keep our roots here.
We want to stay in Ireland and have a life here and provide that for our children.
But it's just the reality of the fact that the properties in our area are just madness.
We'd need to double our salaries per year each in order to afford anywhere in our local community.
And we have looked at properties outside of our community in different counties
But you're talking about massive, massive change for the children and also huge, huge commute times.
It is the calculation and it isn't because moving to a place, moving outside of the country,
The Greater Dublin area, like, you're talking about commute times up to two hours.
You're talking about lack of facilities for the children, like rural schools and everything else.
Moving to Spain, we could probably move into a community where the school is down the road, where we could walk and probably would need less need for a car.
But that reality is not something that's real in Ireland.
We need to have a car.
Public transport is just not there either.
So we can't stay in our community because it's too expensive.
And if we move too far out of it, we're cancelling ourselves out of opportunities.
I would just miss Ireland.

You know, to us.
Life in Ireland has always provided freedom.
