Well, Tarek Panja is a sports correspondent at The New York Times.
He explained to us earlier why Donald Trump had taken such an interest in football.
That's something Donald Trump has been very good at from when he first challenged to become the US president before his first term, throughout that first term.
And here we are.
He knows where the cameras are.
He knows where the attention can be garnered.
And he realizes there's nothing bigger than the biggest event in the world's biggest sport.
And he wants to be front and center of that.
And he's made that clear both during the bid for the World Cup.
He was president then in 2018 when the U.S.
got the hosting rights in Mexico and Canada.
And he will be the president when the final takes place in New Jersey on July the 19th.
As one FIFA official said to me this week, this will be the Donald Trump show.
And that's what it felt like.
There was this hastily arranged FIFA Peace Prize.
This wasn't discussed at all two months ago.
The board was not told about this at all.
