25 years ago, it was 90%, 87%, 84%.
So they were all clustered.
They were all within a few points of each other.
Basically everyone, whether you were a Democrat or Republican, everyone, 87%, 90% said, I'm very proud of being American.
So let's fast forward to 2005.
So 2005, 2001, 90% of Republicans were very proud of America.
to be American.
In 2005, 92% of Republicans are very proud to be an American.
So it actually has gone up a little bit for Republicans.
What has happened for independents?
So independents were at 84%.
And in 25 years, it's dropped from 84% to 53%.
That's scary to me.
And I want to say the next stat is even more horrifying.
So Democrats in 2001, 87% of Democrats, I'm very proud to be an American.
What do you think the number is in 2005?
So it's not quite that bad.
But it's 36%.
So it went from 87% to 36%.
So the differential, if you're Republican, 92% of you are proud to be an American.
