This is the first fine under the new EU legislation, the Digital Services Act, which regulators say X has violated in multiple areas regarding transparency.

European Commission spokesman Thomas Renier says that opens consumers to possible scams and manipulation.
X now has between 60 and 90 days to explain how it will address these concerns, as well as other charges, including allowing researchers access to public data.
