I know, but I will say I don't want to see the best players in the league disadvantaged.
No.
To me, those are the sorts of calls the league needs to like... Because all you have to do is call it twice in the early part of the series and it stops.
And then we get to see Connor McDavid at full flight, which is what we all are paying for.
The NHL, like you saw with the NBA did it with hand checking rules that like enabled things like Jalen Brunson getting inside, but really made it like a point guard centric game and in a way that was beneficial until the volume of threes sort of swamped it.
And then obviously you've seen it with like the Brady rules and how they protect quarterbacks.
Right.
And it's like,
Protect your moneymakers?
I don't know.
The NHL still is worse at this than everyone else, but the players have worked so hard to get so nasty individually that the game's still in a better place.
It's about calling the game in a way that makes for the most entertaining product.
The most entertaining product is one in which the star players are not unencumbered, but are advantaged.
Let's talk Carolina.
Yeah.
All right.
What's your number one takeaway?
from the Carolina Stanley Cup victory that could apply to another team like is there anything about this Carolina team that stands out to you I'm not gonna say this like changed your mind but it's like stands out to you as being novel that you think you know is it high risk of being utilized elsewhere in a copycat league
The goaltending storyline is one that stands out to me.
I ran out of space in doing my Carolina takeaways, but I think one part of this is Carolina legit carried three for large segments of this year.
