You know, just how will you, back of a napkin, sort of explain the value left on the table and contextualize it for Vancouver fans at this stage of the rebuild, if that's how it were to go down?
Well, just the brass tacks of it, the reality of it, and that is that Stenberg has historically built momentum over several years, trending towards this opportunity to be selected ahead of somebody like Kjell Maholter.
And that's not discounting how much I love Maholter.
I mean, any guy that's in your top five on a National Hockey League track list, they're a hell of a player.
But the reality is that Stenberg has already proven it at the pro level.
He's already proven it on the World Championship stage and
You know, he's done it at the World Juniors.
He's passed every test with flying colors at higher levels already.
Now, does that mean that in five, 10 years, we're going to be looking at these two players and saying, well, what's the difference?
I don't I don't have an answer to that.
What I do know right now is it's a trajectory and a consistent trajectory for a longer period of time already.
And for me today, as I sit here based on player value, he's just flat out the best player today.
And, uh, and that's what I go by and, and my culture plays the middle and that's where the argument is going to lie.
Uh, fun fact for you guys, we did ask, uh, Stenberg at the combine, uh, you know, because as everybody knows, he's a very smart player.
He's he's killed penalties his whole career up until for London this year at the pro level.
