Okay, so why did they win the division?
Because the Mets fell apart.
They won the division because they played well.
Why did the Mets not win the division?
Because they didn't play well.
Because they pitched like garbage for the final four months of the season.
Because they couldn't get five innings out of a starter.
Like, you can acknowledge the locker room wasn't perfect without just pinning it on the blame of, well, that's clearly why they fell apart.
Just like the idea that the Mets won in 2024 was because of OMG and because the locker room was so great.
No, it wasn't.
That's not why they won.
Their starters were going seven innings every five days the second half of the year that year.
Now, I think over the course of 162 games, you're right.
But you don't think there's certain days where a certain argument could have happened where just the team's down and everybody's just not clicking because something wasn't right in the locker room?
But I think in general, there are baseball reasons for why the Mets succeeded late 24 and failed late 25.
I agree.
But let's just say that happens three to four times throughout the year.
Like this thing was coming to a head.
Man, it comes down to the last day of the year playing the Reds.
Like they may miss the playoffs because of those locker room issues.
