And it just, you get elected.

I remember I was first elected and I was sitting on the House floor and these guys were walking in and they're coming into their committee with their entourage.

You think once you're elected, you're going to be asked to negotiate a trade deal with North Korea or something by the president.

That's just not the reality.

But you get this reinforcement from the lobbyists and the public and everything, and you start believing your own press releases.
