Podcast Appearances
is in such a weird positioning where I would say that it is a very big deal in video games.
We did a kind of foodie episode yesterday during the stream where we talked a little bit about this, but I feel like this is a...
major blockbuster title in video games for multiple reasons.
One, James Bond IP.
Two, IO Interactive.
Hitman, that's critically going to mean something to gamers, right?
You combine those things, there's a lot of eyes on this.
There's a lot of expectation.
I'm not saying it necessarily looks great.
I know that even personally, some of the presentations so far haven't like got me thrilled about what the game looks like, but I'm still very hopeful.
And I still think that at the end of the day, they could pull this off.
But it's the type of game that needs as much potential to succeed as possible because it's not a guaranteed slam dunk win.
No matter how good it is, it's not necessarily going to be the biggest seller, right?
And I do think that as we see...
teams kind of evolve when we always talk about, like, Sucker Punch or Guerrilla going from the games they used to make to the games that they make now.
This is kind of a big step up to a more mainstream plate for IO because of James Bond, simply because of James Bond.
Hitman, I think, has a gamer ceiling, right?
I know there's been movies and all that stuff, but, like, James Bond gives it kind of just this other level, and we need it to not be in Avengers, right?
It definitely can be an Avengers, but it could be a Spider-Man and not literally, but like more, more Spider-Man than an Avengers.
Right.
