We're learning now that incident may be a part of a trend of more violence along the border. The U.S. consulate in Mexico on Tuesday warned Americans against traveling to the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico. That's across the border from McAllen, Texas.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem joined officers as they targeted violent illegal immigrants and made arrests for crimes including kidnapping, assault, and even double homicide. Among the arrested was an Interpol warranted fugitive from the Dominican Republic. Officials say the focus is on removing individuals with serious criminal charges to ensure public safety.
