Now, there are questions about whether or not this petrodollar system, the liberal economic order, are the right ways to go about doing everything.
But
I love what Ian said.
You know, it's kind of funny because I'm not a big fan of the liberal economic order system as it operates because it turns everything into Times Square.
And that's my biggest problem with it.
But Ian made the good point that it's the worst, best system we've ever had or the best, worst system.
That is, it's a terrible system, but hey, no world wars, limited conflict.
These things are all the lesser of the evils.
And I think it's fair to point out that it's very easy to,
to criticize the system as it is because you are being protected from something else.
That is, I've frequently mentioned the story, the analogy of the woman.
A man builds a big fence around his house to keep his wife safe from predators and animals.
And one day the wife comes out and she's tending to her garden and a wolf comes to the gate and says, why are you trapped in here?
And the woman says, I'm not trapped.
My husband built this to keep me safe.
He says, no, your husband built this to trap you inside so you can't see the world.
You need to tear this down and be free.
And the wife says, you're right.
Tears the fence down and is immediately mauled to death and dragged away and eaten by the wolf.
Now, to be fair, wolves probably would not do that.
