And now they're showing right off the bat with California what that penalty will look like.
It will look like a sizable cut in what the federal government is paying to the state Medicaid programs.
Sure.
So this is a very interesting thing that the vice president noted.
He said the United States government is generous.
We send out hundreds of billions of dollars a week to state Medicaid programs.
There are always going to be bad actors who try to take advantage of this.
He pointed to his own state of Ohio, a red state, which is where Luke Luke's investigation focused and said, look, you know, it can happen in my backyard.
It can happen in a red state.
That said, and perhaps unsurprisingly to most of our viewers, it is blue states that seem to have mostly turned a blind eye to fraud.
Indiana is the state that the vice president really singled out.
He said that they logged four times as many fraud indictments in their Medicaid program as New York State, despite having a much, much smaller Medicaid program.
New York, meanwhile, administers a $100 billion a year Medicaid program.
This is New York.

You know, there's certainly crime in New York City.
We all know that, organized and otherwise.
They only had nine fraud claims in all of last year, nine out of $100 million.
