Before we get into it, I must say it's a very, very interesting house because her husband knows that she's deeply connected to it and they see the adventure in it.

And her children, well, they just do what they're told.

But you sort of understand that this is what mum and dad want to do and that's what you go with.

It's a tricky one.

What I will say is that you see this time and time again, that people will take financial risks and make all sorts of compromises for architecturally significant houses.

Constantly.

And I've always been fascinated by it.

It's certainly not.

Most of the furniture's inbuilt.

She refers to it as a hemicycle, but most of us would call it like a horseshoe in some shape or form, wouldn't you?

It's probably also important to say that Laurie built this in the mid-70s and his desire was to make it the same size as government housing at the time to prove that you could do something better and interesting.
