I love that.
that has that level of beauty and we can all of us invest in a beautifully made chair you invest in your pot you know we all do that and you can enjoy the energy of it and like john does you know i i have pots at home with a little bit of paper in them inside the pot just to so i can remember who made it you know i mean you keep the little label of the maker and that kind of thing particularly if you've met them and john's brilliant because he knows all these amazing makers
So he can like, oh, I need a new toilet roll holder.
Well, it needs to be this shape and it needs to go around the corner there and fit underneath that.
And so he'll design it because he's a brilliant architect and his drawings are beautiful.
And he'll do it for fun in the evening, you know.
And then he'll give it to like Harry who's got the workshop like wherever it is, the end of Tasmania or the other end of the world it could be.
He'll make it and then you get back this thing.
And there's energy everywhere.
There are these sparks of energy kind of pinging off even in the downstairs toilet.
There's a spark of energy coming off the toilet roll holder.
And I'm super envious of that because it's not like there's a warm glow of craftsmanship in the building, which is what you get with a lot of architecture.
It's like, whoa, it's like a symphony going on, you know, all the time.
Lots of little exciting little moments.
And of course, for him, this isn't a whimsy for him.
This is about keeping his relationship with makers alive.
All those collaborators love it because he's always asking them to do the hard, the difficult, the slightly impossible.
And thanking them for it.
