You know, and I accept it's not, you know, Mikel Arteta presumably sees it as his job.
His responsibility is to Arsenal Football Club, you know, and he's not in the business of winning hearts and minds.
He's in the business of winning trophies.
You know, it's not about going out there and making sure that all these little leeches and parasites and demons of, you know, for example, media people exist.
are like, oh, that was great.
That's not the job.
That's a distraction.
The main thing is get your hands on that cup.
Right?
Sure.
I accept that.
But it's not about, oh, he should be more entertaining.
It's about at what point does an obsession with gamesmanship and these types of details and this idea of psychologically trying to manipulate your opponent become self-defeating?
You know, which is why the corner is kind of such a funny moment, you know?
I think the longer term question, I think this is an important question for Arteta, for what's going to happen at Arsenal under Arteta over the next couple of years, is can you actually get a squad of world-class footballers to play that way in the longer term?
I think the way that they're approaching the game, and I mean stuff like the riot, grabbing the ball to bring it back on you, all this kind of nonsense, right, is it takes a lot of mental energy
To always be trying to think, oh, what little thing can I do here to disrupt them, right?
And a lot of humility.
Like a lot of humility.
And I don't think really good players want to play that way.
