Sounds like a lengthy hearing, that one.
That could go the distance.
Well, let's ask the only player here at the moment.
24, about the right number, or do you want a few more?
More.
Well, the thing is, I reckon I'd almost go for more.
More?
Well, I wouldn't necessarily go more than 24.
I think 24 is not a bad number.
But when people โ I know there's been a lot of push to have less games in the season.
I'm personally like we play so many preseason games, why don't we actually make a few more of them worth premiership points?
I mean, if you look at most other leagues around the world, like the Premier League, for instance โ
They have a lot of their games at the start of the year where they understand that the product is not the same as when it comes right to the pointy end and in season.
But if you can get more games, more people there and sell it that way, I suppose, instead of having so many pre-season games.
Okay, so the counter argument to that is that players wouldn't be necessarily prepared correctly for the AFL season if you didn't have pre-season games.
What do you say to that?
Even if you're at the coalface.
Yeah, I don't know if I believe in that only because, again, AFL, I think, has the longest preseason of any professional sport.
I think that by the time you get to the back end of preseason, you're basically playing full-length games, not only as in intras, or you're playing against other teams.
So I don't know why you couldn't just maybe turn a few of those or make it a little bit earlier.
