I studied in the US and Germany.

So you're from Berlin originally.

I am from Berlin, yes.

The German accent has never gone away.

I've lived here for 18 years.

Speak English to my kids, surprisingly.

And so my professor really pushed me and he said, look, Goldman Sachs is recruiting.

You should go.

I had no idea what M&A is.

I mean, completely embarrassing experience.

I didn't know what the guys were talking about, like WEC and, you know, all these like weird.

And then I did look into it more and then I studied up on it and I got a job offered at Rothschild.

I was briefly in New York and Frankfurt.

Rothschild's is pretty high, high ranked, I would say it.

Yeah, it was good.

Somebody said, look, would you like a job in London?

And I had never been to London.

The day after my final exam, I was on a plane to London and it took me some time to culturally get used to the language.

My first, just one quick memory, but the first offside, the Rothschild kind of introduction offside, it said casual.

And so picture 30 people from Oxbridge wearing cufflinks and a jacket and me in a t-shirt because I didn't understand what casual means.
