And then that gets used as justification to avoid making the movies in the first place.

So it's a self-defeating prophecy right there.

But...

That's the business contradiction at the heart here is that studios are always complaining about not having original stories.

Here are original stories to tell and they're not selling them because audience also like it.

Audience data in a survey says that more people would be more likely to watch a movie led by a woman over 60 than less likely.

So the demand is there.

The audience is there.

It's just that Hollywood is not serving that demand.
