Okay, then we got a deal.
I've got some, this is just us talking, right?
Okay. Yeah. I've got some VIPs. I've got some high level people. I have a list. I have a big list. But at the end of the day, the highest value one that I have is Josh, right? There's nothing that's going to beat his evaluation than out of my entire portfolio.
Yeah. They sell phone numbers too.
Yeah.
So I have hundreds of phone numbers, vanity numbers, right? Um, you know, I sell them to attorneys, uh, high level companies. So I've been brokering phone numbers and domains for a long time. And, uh, Again, you have to buy right and you got to find who's the best partner and we're good match, right? So all the ubiquitous advertising with lawyers, right? Lawyers are lawyers, right?
The really good ones are good marketers. They're not any better lawyer than others, but they know how to catch the fish, right? And that's where a good domain and or a good phone number comes into play. So I can get like 716 or...
know all eights we call those repeaters four four four four four four four i get 100k for those right yeah yeah yeah a hundred percent a hundred percent wow so this is i've been doing this for you know 20 years right and i've got a lot of networking partners so we know how to dig we know how to break legs we know how to twist arms and we know how to make heels happen
But my biggest baby is Josh, right? And that's where we're just looking for a good partner and we're a good relationship. We want it to go into the right hands.
No, no, it's plausible. So here on the other end, I can monetize the shit out of this site just by selling merchandise, right? So that's option B. And I can either A, pay the NFL their licensing and sell millions off of this mark every month. Right. And or I can go plan B and sell generic football stuff and still do super well in Buffalo. Anything that has Josh Yellen, it flies off the shelves.
Right. The the amount of merchandise that they sell in this market is astronomical. Astronomical. Every store you go to, every car you see, something has either Buffalo Bills or Josh Yellen on it. Wow.
Yeah. So the, this was, you know, I've had it for a few years now, but I do get hits, right? I've had lots of different brokers call me. I even had Josh Allen. He's not the Josh Allen, but another Josh Allen that wanted to buy it. And, you know, we were just too far apart.
No, no, no. Just a guy named Josh Allen who's in media marketing. And he goes, yeah, that was my domain. And I'm like, yeah, it's my domain.
Yeah, it's real estate, man. It's real estate, right? So digital real estate. But yeah, the right deal comes along, I'll do business.
you'll have to check with your attorney on it. But at the end of the day, it's just, it's real estate. I can do, I own it. That's not really, it's just an item that I own, right? So I'm not infringing on Josh Allen or I don't have his picture. I'm not monetizing it as I am Josh Allen's representative or agent. I just, at this point, possessed it for the deal.
No, now the price goes up to $2 million because the valuation has now doubled.
They're assassins, man. It's the buzz, right? So the stock rises every single day. The MVP is knocking on the door, right? So as the buzz continues to grow, so does the price. But that's still... a fire sale and a discounted price compared to the million-dollar listing on GoDaddy.
You mean the other Josh Allen?
Yes.
Guys, give me 60 seconds. I'll be right back.
This is why you need us. I got that one too.
Um, probably the attorneys that I've helped over the years.
Yeah. Typically it'll happen. Like they'll research or search it out and then they'll come to me and then we'll broker and negotiate a deal. Right. Yeah. And then also I'll do the cold calling as well. Right. With the inventory, I'll see what's a good deal, acquire it, and then, you know, offer my assistance.
Six figures. They're all six figures.
I do them for nickels and dimes and twenties and thirties.
I have several, uh, 75, a hundred.
I'm not. I could have sold it, just the numbers aren't there yet. I have a minimum. Basically, if you look on the site, that's where I want to be. I'm hopeful Nike or one of the other big guys come and pay the seven figures. That's the want and the wish. At the end of the day, we have a very impactful product and startup that we're doing.
And that's where I'm looking to liquidate to take this funding for the startup and then do something super impactful with the epidemic, with the harmful opioid crisis. Right. So I've been working on that for about 15 months. I developed the product, market it, and now we're just doing we want to go Q1 with our first launch. And I believe wholeheartedly this is going to be massive, right?
It's going to be a massive endeavor. The good news about this product is It's a win-win, right? I think all of us have been touched by life of loss or the struggles of opioid addiction. And me, myself, my personal story, I'm a recovered addict 20 years ago, right? But I also have six kids, right? My friends have lost their sons, right?
We've all known or know the epidemic of over 100,000 people, Americans dying. on an annual basis, right? So back when I was a kid, the AIDS epidemic came in, right? And there were two things you did or didn't do. It was A, abstain from sex or use a condom, right? So now today we can't just use drugs recreationally. Our kids can't use drugs. Nobody should use drugs.
So either A, abstain from drugs or use responsibly, right? And this is what I want to do is bring the testing mainstream
into the retail markets your convenience stores your gas stations right a cup of coffee's three dollars here's a test strip it's three bucks right test it before you ingest it fenex it or forget it right this is the product that i believe i've been called to do and this is why i do all these maniacal things to get to my main objective
But yeah, FedEx is the product that I've developed, and that's what my biggest energy is targeting.
100%. Who do you like, Chargers or Texans?
One deal at a time.
Yeah. Yeah. The like I said, I have a wide, wide inventory. Right. It's more than just sports. And with the phone numbers and or the digital assets. So. But, you know, I also do other I have other investments and other other things that I'm involved with.
We're on the same page.
Not at all. I admire him. He's... He's amazing. He's God dang Patrick Mahomes. But it's Josh's time, right? It's time for Josh to wear the crown.
Well, then we give a 5% discount.
As in a cash deal?
But if it's just $225 in a briefcase. Are we talking Louis Vuitton, Coach? What type of briefcase would it be? You get to pick. You pick.
What if we just said, listen. 240 in a duffel bag.
Yeah, love the offer, but I still need the seed funding, right? I still need the money to do the purchase orders and to fund the project.
That's awesome.
And Gordy Gronkowski is a good friend of mine. I can go see him.
Within the hour. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely.
We're actually friends. Yeah, we've done business together for years. Really?
He lives right down the street from me.
No.
No. Chris Gronkowski? Mr. Rob. That's who I deal with. Mr. G. Wow.
That's not a great idea.
We would have Josh. Yeah. Yeah.
I just, you know, I'm a super fan and obviously I study the market. I watch domains and I own a lot of dot coms. And so I just knew I fought for this one for several years and finally got the the owner to sell to me. And I've just obviously with Josh, I mean, in Buffalo, Josh Allen is our messiah, right?
And with his lucrative contracts, his endorsements, it's just a great investment for me to have and hold and wait for the right opportunity to present itself.
It's five-figure range, in the five figures.
Yes. So if you work for Nike, $1 million. If you work for Pepsi, $1 million. If you're trying to monetize and doing an endorsement and doing a deal, I'm at $300,000.
Yeah, so we do get hits, right? I do get interest. And so I'm just waiting for the right fit. Josh Allen's camp, maybe his agent, Pepsi or Nike, they're all his major endorsements.
Yeah, so it's plausible that, you know, I'll get the call or do a deal with one of these giants, right, that are already sponsoring him.
Yeah. So I also own, so we call him the alien, Josh Alien.
So I own JoshAlien.com. You're smart.
I own Josh Allen Madden football, right? Because he's the face of Madden football now. So I own that as well, right? So maybe, you know, the Madden people call me, hey, they want to monetize it and promote the Josh domain. So if you go, you segue over to Patrick Mahomes, it's Adidas. It's an Adidas platform.
So if we go to PatrickMahomes.com, he's selling millions of dollars in Adidas merchandise, right? Yeah. Tom Brady, right? TB12. He's selling all of his merch and his endorsements, his speaking engagements. So these guys monetize these at a very high level. So I knew after I fought for this for several years, I never give up. I never give up, right?
If I want something and I know it's going to have a good payoff, I'll be white on rice till I get it.
Yeah. We'll give you a 10,000 off in a check for two nights. Yeah.
A hundred percent. Yeah. So if you go to go daddy, you can go to the go daddy platform and you punch in Josh Allen.com. You'll see the evaluation on go daddy. It's like a million dollars. 90,000. Wow. That's, that's, that's the price on go day. Right.
Yeah, that's our main objective.
With Super Bowl tickets and a signed autographed jersey from Josh Allen?
For me, it's about all the tape I watch, all the conversations I have, to be able, instead of just in 90 seconds with a clip that has to be sold to somebody, to actually be able to sit with this stupid microphone in front of me and equally stupid headphones on, to sit in my office where I watch tape and just to have the conversations with the audience that I'm having with people in the league and to be able to dive in deeper and
to what I'm doing to evaluate these prospects has been a lot of fun.
My, um, the, um, The process is the same. We started in May for next year. It's a full 12 months a year evaluating. I'm watching the same tape, have the same database, have the same board, having the same conversations with everyone. So nothing from the process changes at all. It's a lot less travel.
And so with that comes fewer stories of, you know, I sat down with Nick on a Thursday before Friday before a game. And so I don't have as many of those stories, but I still have everyone's cell phone numbers. I'm still talking to everyone. So but what's different now is. We get to like I've already one week into the show, I trust the people I'm working with, the producers I'm working with.
I trust mention implicitly and and to be able to just shoot a text like this week, we have Joel Klatt coming on tomorrow to shoot him a text this morning. Hey, do you mind joining your Penn State, Ohio State this week and to be able to to tap into those? You know, it's been two and a half decades.
of building relationships and getting to really know people and traveling with them and dinners and, and like, you know, to be able to, to kind of call on all that now is, is really cool. It's hard though. Like you guys make it look easy, but like lining up guests, figuring out what the rundown is. That's the hardest part for me. Like I always go on shows and answer questions. I go into a studio.
I answer questions.
I get a rundown and it's like, all right, these are the five players I'm talking about or these are the three teams. So I've always been like kind of pushed and pointed in the right direction. Now it's like this, you know, this open canvas, if you will. So the hardest part for me is figuring out what are we going to talk about this week? What's interesting?
So the creative part is different and it's harder, but it's also more fun because it's challenging. So yeah, I don't know. It's a long-winded answer, but I'm enjoying the hell out of it, man. I really am. I was worried. I promise you, pacing around nervous about the first couple of shows.
Yeah. You got to remember, I've never done this. I know. I know. I would go on a half hour show or an hour show and I would have a rundown of this. We're going to do in the eights. Right. Jaden Daniels.
Jaden Daniels. And like, here are the three clips that I have and I can time it out to the to, you know, what the video is. And so to have like, all right, we're on for 60 to 90 minutes. What do you got? So I was nervous. I was truly nervous. I wasn't like shaking in my voice, but I was nervous. I did like an open for the first show. I've never written my own open. I don't host things.
I'm not talented. I'm not Van Pelt. I'm not levitard. I'm not, you know what I mean? I'm not these dudes. And so I'm not going to try to be, I'm, I think that's the biggest thing I've learned from the first week is I can still stay in my lane and I can screw this thing up. Like it,
procedurally, you know, the struck, I'm not going to have these great transitions from one thing to the next, but I think if we're just talking ball and I'm sharing exactly what I'm doing, I think there's a small audience that might be interested in as we continue to move forward.
No, but I do watch Levitard every once in a while. When he wants to get serious, he'll come out, and it's brilliant. I mean, he was a writer first, right? Yes. And I know Levitard refuses to ever talk to me. The closest I'll ever get to your show is talking to you guys.
No, I'm the only person who has a feud with somebody just because they refuse to get to know me. I'm flying down to Miami one day, and we're going to go out to dinner, and we're going to solve this thing. I know it's the draft stuff. I know he hates the draft.
I understand that. But my point is, like, he'll start crying and he'll, he'll beautifully land a plane. And like, I can't do that. Right. I, you know, I'm just like, that's not my talent. I'm trying to figure out how to stay in my lane and not, not muck it up on the way.
Yeah. Yeah. It was not the plan. My plan was to work for ESPN the rest of my career. I'll be totally honest. They wanted me to come back and do TV at some point and do the draft. Like I'm here, you know? So it's not, I never had this intention and maybe I should have.
But after I got over the initial phase of disappointment and all the emotions that come with something like that and started to talk to people who are doing this thing at a high level and started to talk to my agency, there's life after and there's opportunities. Yeah, I'm happy, man. I'm happy. Yeah, I swear. It's different. So it's a good thing.
I talked to Mel more. I talked to Mel more in seven months than I ever did. Mel and I probably talked in, I think, 13 years together doing the draft. We probably talked, I don't know, 30, 40 times in 13 years on the phone, you know, just side conversation, not like together, go drive into the hotel from Bristol and, you know, going to the draft. I'm talking just like pick up the phone and call.
He became, he's always been a friend, but he became a close friend. And the advice he gave me, like lifting me up, the confidence that he had, it was impactful, man. It was like, At 41, I could still hear him in my ear right now. 41 years I've been doing this, Todd. I'm going to be 64. I'm about to have a grandchild. I promise you.
If you gave me an opportunity where one year where I'm going to be part of a package where you get paid for a year and you can take it off, I would take it in a heartbeat. So enjoy it. Like, stop. I remember him being like, stop. Stop worrying about what's next. Take a year. Be with your kids. Be with your family. Get healthy. Get right. Do things for you. And that was hugely impactful.
Hugely impactful.
Yeah, it was getting like too sappy and emotional. No one cares.
Well, he's got he's got a sponsorship. I'm still working on my throwback.
No, it's either for free or he's trying to get it free. That buck in front of you is, I know that much for sure. Cignetti. Cignetti. It's interesting because the guy I worked with, I talked to you about Steve Mensch. There were three of us. It was myself, Mensch, and Kevin Weidel. And Kevin Weidel and his whole family, he was with me for 12 years.
He's now scouting with the Baltimore Ravens, Kevin was. He's always talked to me about Cignetti, IUP, long history. And he's a different cat. And so I've known about Cignetti before Cignetti was even anybody, when he was at IUP.
And so to see him rise up the ranks and to win and Google me and all this stuff has been kind of fun to watch because I've had this like connection with him without knowing him.
But while he's like a different cat is the best way I can put it in terms like socially and all that, his attention to detail, his confidence in his plan and what he's doing, his leadership from top to bottom, you can see it on the field. They are not the most talented team. They are not an undefeated team in terms of just pure talent. got dudes on the field, but they don't make many mistakes.
They believe in what they're doing defensively. They're buttoned up offensively. They, they understand who they are. It's, it's really cool to watch. And he's, I just love it. And I also like, I have some friends who were really deep ties at Indiana football and, It's a basketball school. There's no question about it.
But what's different between, like, Indiana and maybe even Kentucky, I don't know, is they absolutely freaking love their football. And they've been starved for something like this. So it's been fun to watch.
I do here. I mean, you get online. Yeah. Can you imagine having the win percentage, the recruiting, the talent, everything that you've done in your Ryan Day? And they're like, yeah. Ryan Day, bring in Cignetti. We want Cignetti. Can you imagine? No.
Like, how spoiled are you? It's ridiculous. And I don't know. And I promise you this, Cignetti, like, they go beat Michigan. He's an Ohio State coach. He's going to annoy their fan base, too. He's not going to be as accessible. He's not going to recruit maybe some of the – Whatever it is.
Herb Street always talks about it. It's the greatest fan base in the world, except for the 10%, 15%, whatever you want to put that number, the lunatic fringe. Right. He talks about it like the Ohio State lunatic fringe is up there with any fan base. It's just they're so loud that it drowns out like the other 85% of like rational, good human beings, like all those.
It's just that lunatic fringe is special.
know it's interesting because because and i said it a lot and a lot i had to say to myself because i wasn't i didn't really have an outlet last year except going on risillos every monday so i guess i just said it to ryan a lot right um Caleb's special. I mean, and we're seeing it. We didn't see it for three and a half quarters yesterday, but we've seen it like the last five or so games.
He's special. He's got, I'm not saying he's ever going to be Mahomes. He's only won Mahomes, but he had a lot of those same traits where it's sloppy, footwork's not there. But my God, can he create and can he do special things with the football that most guys just can't do?
so as a whole i had a slight i think it was like 96 and 95 on 100 grade scale like two of the higher grades i've given out in a long time ever at the quarterback position uh but jayden i had it's like a third rounder coming into the year and i remember two years ago um being on the field with brian kelly with jayden and being like listen todd like i know you evaluate these guys
Like, I promise you what I see in practice is a guy who can anticipate throws, who can throw to spots that you don't see always on tape. And I'm pissed because it was before the Tennessee game when they had Hendon Hooker and Tennessee was rolling, right? And they got rolled up that day. LSU did too. But I was on the field like 20 minutes before kick, and he's walking me through.
He's like, the worst thing is – he's like, I know it's not you, but like the media – Every, especially locally is like, Oh, Jaden's doing great. He hasn't thrown an interception. He's like, I'm dying for this kid to throw an interception. Cause I want to prove to him that it won't be the end of the world. Like we're going to be all right. He's like, I just need him to rip it and trust his eyes.
He's like, he has to see a receiver come open. Very first, first play of that game. It was a comeback route on the left side. And I could tell by the conversation I had with him and then the, how the play unfolded. He was like, listen, I don't care if you throw a pick six here. Get the ball out on time. Trust your receiver. Trust the play call. And he did. And he ripped it.
And it was a beautiful throw to the left. And that was the first time I saw, like, Jaden's not just a phenomenal athlete who can run in the four threes and can make some deep throws and do some beautiful things when the play breaks down. if he trusts his mind and his eyes, he's going to get to a point where he can do special things too.
And so from that point on, he kept getting better and better and better, anticipating things, trusting the offense, trusting his eyes. And then we saw the following year, he put together the season that he had. And I said it so many times to Russillo, if I was dropped on this planet and said, all right, here's the 2023 tape of Caleb, 2023 tape of Jaden, I'm taking Jaden. He had a better season.
I see it more. It's just – it's more – it translates better. But I've seen the whole career of Caleb, and I know what he's capable of. So I gave them almost identical grades. Loved both of them. I was slightly higher. It was, I think, 96 and 95 for those two quarterbacks coming in.
And Drake May was number three on that list, but there was a little – there was a noticeable gap between the first two guys and Drake May. So – That's where I stand. It surprises me because no rookie should be playing the way Jaden has played. It's crazy. Period.
It's crazy.
No rookie should ever have the rookie year that he's had. You can argue. I know he missed the time and he wasn't great yesterday before the Hail Mary and all that. But you could argue that he's the MVP of the league.
And what he's done to that whole, the whole organization, like the confidence has been instilled and there's, there's a lot of scouting. I know we don't have to deep dive, but there's a lot of scouting stuff here. Like the same, the same offense he was running his senior year with a Denbrock who's now Notre Dame. is a very similar offense to what he's running now.
So the transition wasn't that hard for him. Playing more ball, transferring from Arizona State to LSU and being in different systems and getting as much game experience as he had, that's critical too. And so I think some young quarterbacks can learn from his journey.
I hate the word journey, but his experience in college and the fact that playing more games is critical because when he got to the NFL, right? He was ready. And it's rare to see that a quarterback is absolutely ready. And Jaden Daniels has been ready.
I didn't have a first round grade on him, man.
And I said this, like, it's either going to be one of the most arrogant mistake ever. um, that, that has been made in that organization, or it's going to be, you know, we're going to see, we're going to see Sean Payton just thrive. And this is going to be the greatest decision he's made and been a part of personnel was. And early on, I was like, yeah,
This is the Bo Nix that I kind of thought that we could see. But he's gaining confidence. And the trust and confidence that Sean has in Bo, that's another case study. Like, not wavering, undoubtedly. And I even said – I said to Ryan, like, week two or week three – I wonder if Sean regrets being so confident in Bo like publicly, not privately. That's what you have to be.
But publicly, like I remember watching clips of Diana Rossini. I know you guys have a great relationship with and like when she was a training camp and just raving about this guy, like he was a five year vet who had proven himself. And I was like, is he setting him up for failure publicly? And then he comes out and he didn't play great in the first few games.
But to see the growth that he has, and I think part of it is that unwavering confidence that he's the guy. And Sean has done great things with him so far. And, yeah, he's playing good. I was worried about him. And I don't – let me also say this. I'm not sure he would have this kind of success this early that he's had in recent weeks.
If it was with anybody else, not to say that Sean's the only one who could develop them. No, it makes sense. But the fit was brilliant.
What was your, no, no, I really, I had him as a first quarterback. I remember being, I'll never forget being out at the Cal pro day. Right. And you're out in Berkeley and it's just different setting and all the Redwood trees in the background. And, you know, it's, it's not like you're going down, down to Tuscaloosa for a pro day or, or Columbus. That's a,
when you're scouting and you're going to all these things every year, you're, you're familiar with these settings and it, it feels like, yeah, I've been here before. Now we're, I remember being out of Cal and, um, and just, and watching it and it just, it felt different. It's hard to explain. It just didn't feel, it didn't feel like, Not that it wasn't first class.
It didn't feel like the right setting for it. Right. And then golf, remember, it was nine-inch hands or nine and one-eighths inch. That was a big topic of conversation. So now here we are with this big setting and the redwood trees and the hippie campus and all this stuff. And you've got, I think it was the Cleveland Browns.
quarterback coach at the time has got him dumped before every drop back, taking the NFL football and, and putting it in a barrel of water. I'm like, this just feels weird. You know, like it's a torture, you know, but they wanted to test. Can he throw a wet football? So, um, I liked him. I thought he could, in the right system, be successful. I was really surprised.
You know, they go to a Super Bowl with him, and McVay's like, nah, I need, what was his line? I need a partner here, not a mentor role, or something along those lines, paraphrasing. And I understood that, but it still was surprising. And I thought to myself, because remember, at that time, we've seen Baker now. We're seeing Sam Darnold. Retread quarterbacks was not a thing.
Your first spot didn't work out based off history. You were done. You're done.
You're done.
And so I'm like, oh, golf's done. And he's going to Detroit. Right. And Matthew Stafford, like, anyone who studies tape and, like, knows this game, Matthew Stafford, if Matt can't do it, nobody can. Like, almost nobody in the world can do it. Yeah. And now Jared's going to Detroit. He's done. Right. To see what he's done. And... Brad Holmes, like talk about confidence and believing in a guy.
And Brad Holmes, the general manager, seeing what he saw in him. And like, I remember reporters after the first year, like I do obviously working in the draft. It's like, all right. Draft needs. Detroit, it was like quarterback. Goff is a placeholder. He's a bridge the gap guy. But if they're going to take the next step, they need to draft a quarterback early.
And I remember watching a press conference where it was like, what are you guys talking about? We got our guy. Right. And I still like quarterback top three need like they're they're they're just they're playing coy. But he believed in him and that organization believed in him. And Ben Johnson, the coordinator, is a big part of it, too.
He's one of the brilliant minds in the NFL on the offensive side. And watching them, not only did they get him to a level where he's like, they can win without him screwing it up. Like, he is now to a level where he's one of the 10 best quarterbacks in the league, maybe seven, wherever that number is. And they're winning a lot of times because of him. How about Jameer Gibbs? So good.
Like, Brad Holmes, we – For a while, we didn't talk about Brett Veach in Kansas City, the general manager, and the job that he did because it's all about Andy Reid and Mahomes. And Brad Holmes, to me, is one of the great GMs in the NFL. It was a big FU. I get all these draft picks. And we're going to take a running back and get mocked.
And we're going to take an inside linebacker and get mocked and look at them now, you know, like, and a tight end. Then I think it was early second round just a couple of years ago. Look at those guys out in Jameer Gibbs. I mean, every time I look up, he's going for like a 40 plus yard touchdown run.
It's so it's interesting you talk to NFL scouts right and early in the year it was like yeah this is the Kenny Pickett Malik Willis draft like these quarterback you know.
Sounds like a Jets draft yeah yeah it's gotten better but but every time you want to like like this this week I was watching Ole Miss I'm not Ole Miss A&M LSU and Garrett Nussmeier I just love I still call it draft draft Twitter but draft X. It's like all of a sudden it was 17-7 and I'm going through the feed quickly because I'm getting ready for my first Saturday night show.
And it was like this orgy of draft geniuses on X, like clamoring over each other. Like, no, I had him first. No, he's my guy. No, I had him QB one four months ago. Meanwhile, he hadn't started – he started a bowl game last year. Right. So, like, it's just interesting to see. And remember, first half of Alabama – Georgia, it was like Jalen Milrow, QB1. I knew all along.
And then you watched Countdown with Greeny, and he talked to Field Yates in the makeup room. And why not Jalen Milrow, QB1? He could be developed, and we saw Jalen Hurt. It's just funny in a year when you don't have Caleb Williams, and you don't have Jaden Daniels, and you don't have Drake May. How like everyone is so freaking eager to like tap on that shoulder and be like, he's my guy. He's mine.
No, no, no. I had him first. Well, maybe there's when we're fighting over that, maybe there's not one elite guy. I can tell you this right now. Shador Sanders, without question. has had the best tape of any quarterback this year in the country.
And everyone wants to dislike him because his dad's going to block him from going to Carolina and a handful of other places that he potentially could go, however that all plays out. But Shador Sanders, after that Nebraska pick six and that tape, has been absolutely lights out.
They're protecting him a little bit better, which is it's hard to protect him any worse than they were early in the season. But every game he's gotten better, more confident, playing within structure. He's the best pure passer in this class. I know he's not overly mobile. He extends plays, but he is not a guy that threatens you with his legs to run.
But I think from an NFL passing perspective, he has the most tools to work with. Cam Ward is exceptional. His, his gift, like his tools, his, his escapability, his arm. Like, I don't know if you guys saw a couple of weeks ago, like that throw 42, 48 yards back to the end zone. Yes. Unbelievable. Right. Yeah.
Not many guys can do that, but there's four or five plays every game where you're like, ah, you know, like careful. Like that's not, he's not going to get away with in the NFL. And then there's another three or four throws. Like you got to make that. That's, that's a layup. So, uh, I think Cam Ward has a lot of potential. I think Shador is the best quarterback prospect in this class.
I think they're both first-round guys. I think Jalen Milrow is absolutely the wild card of all this. I think he probably would benefit from going back another year and continuing to develop. He's made great – remember, he was benched midway through last season. Right. Freaking.
So to see the strides he's made in just over a year, really one year from that point, and to see where he is now and to see him have that first half against Georgia, there's a lot to be excited about. And his ability to run is second to none in this class. But I think he could use another year. I don't know if he'll wind up doing that or not.
It depends on how he finishes the season, what happens in the SEC championship game if they're in it, what happens in the playoff if they're in it. And if you finish finishes great, then yeah, he'll probably get a late first round grade and go somewhere in the middle of the first round because a team is going to bet on the upside.
But if I were advising him, I'd say, let's see how the season plays out. And if it's still kind of up and down rollercoaster style, then let's, let's strongly consider going back another year and developing. And then Garrett Nussmeyer, Phenomenal for the vast majority. I think his tape is up there.
I wouldn't say with Shador's, but I would say he's been the second best quarterback in terms of like, no, I would say it's Shador, Cam Ward and just tape wise Nussmeier. But then he makes that mistake and then three interceptions and the wheels come off. And Nussmeier has another year, too.
And we talked about Jaden Daniels, how important game experience was for him in this rookie year he's having. I think Nussmeier should go back to LSU for another year and gain that experience.
After the Michigan game, another guy just climbing over bodies. You were QB1. You were, right? It's just unbelievable. Like, why do we have to declare right now? Well, you got to be the first one to declare. You got to say, hey, I had that guy first. Right, yeah. That's my guy. It wasn't Michelle.
Exactly. And that's why Kuyper will put a player who he's got at number 40 on his board up at 25 and sneak him in. Yeah, the false elevation. Classic mouth. Yeah, classic mouth. But Ewers is in that conversation. There's no question. I would say right now for me, it's Shador one, Cam Ward two, Milrow is like big asterisk next to him, but three based off of potential.
Nussmeier four but again probably should return and gain more experience one year as a starter look at the history of it dating back to Sanchez you guys know well coming out of USC so I would say Nussmeier viewers and then Carson Beck and Carson Beck oh yeah was ever you know everybody was Milrow in the first half and Beck in the second half yeah yeah can I yeah can we get the combo
I appreciate you too, Stigatz. You asked me before, like people, you were one of them, the people who I reached out to and people who reached out to me. And I'll never forget that because you've got your persona and everyone knows all your, all your flaws and we love you for them. Thank you.
But, but you were there like real, real texts back and forth and being honest and, and keeping me on top of some stuff. So I appreciate you and I'll never forget that.
Sounds good, guys.
Right. It was perfect.
The McShay Todd cast. Talking about my kids. That's what they wanted me to offer up. I did. And people at the ringer just laughed at it. So you can joke about it, but that's not going to be your podcast.
um what uh the todd todd todd show from like the caliendo bit but the todd todd todd cast yeah i'm not with i'm not with kuiper anymore you know and i am in spirit but but uh not not company-wide so yeah i don't know we landed on that that was that was their call feels a little like arrogant right like look at me
Todd Talk. Rosillo just. Rosillo was was remembering back to a time I was at the Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach. Brought him into my hotel room with all my film set up and talked him through Jameis Winston versus Mariota in that draft class. And he referenced it as a Todd Talk.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I don't win them all, but I won that one.
I don't know that there are any huge winners in that, but yeah.
I've been called Shay Shay before, but not since that podcast. That's gone away.
We are. We're drinking Smirnoff.
I did. I did.
I was texting with you, so you guys were like... It sounded like a great idea. My son's 10th birthday was recently. We're trying to pick a game that we'd go to. And obviously, you know, I played college football with Joe Douglas and thought it would be cool to bring him there and to take my son do it to a game. And Joe was there and, you know, get the experience, right? Yeah.
that game looked interesting i knew the patriots were going to be great but the jets are in town they're going to have a great season we all you know all were expecting that and then you know all of a sudden it's like oh shoot one in six versus two and five but still an unbelievable experience and thank you to the patriots Thank you to the Jets. Got to bring my son on the field.
I'm talking to a former ESPN executive on the sideline. I look over my son. I don't know if you've been on the sideline of an NFL game pre-game. They have the ropes up where people who are allowed on the field have to stay within a certain area. And my son... I just think he thinks he runs the joint, you know?
And I look over and I'm talking to this guy, Jerry Madelon, who G Matt, I don't know if he was there when you guys were at ESPN.
He's a wonderful man. Yep. He really is a wonderful man. So I'm talking to him, lose track of where my son is and he thinks it's okay. Now I look over, he's in the end zone and I'm like, Oh sh**.
you know like i know and i'm all that's running through my head is like joe texting me like what are you doing stacy james with the patriots yelling at me and and so i look over and now the jets are coming out of the tunnel and braylon allen the rookie running back number zero and
comes running out and tate is like what's up man with his hand out and i'm like this isn't gonna end well and so i'm like jerry i gotta go so i start walking over and braylon was cool he looked around like what like this he's not supposed to be here and i thought he was gonna be like get out of here but he was cool he was like what's up buddy how you doing so that was the start of my day i thought we were gonna get kicked off the field within like five minutes of being there
I mean, he gets a page out of your, your playbook, right?
Yeah. I mean, we had to have a conversation about that after, uh, I am certain you had a number of suitors.
You know, when I, when I was laid off with a bunch of people at ESPN, um, I kind of made the decision a few months in after kind of being frustrated, going through all the emotions that when I go back, I want to do it my way.
And my guy, Steve Mensch, who's been with me behind the scenes, scouting, lives up in New Hampshire, doesn't like to travel, just been doing the grinding for over two decades, like 25 years. And I was like, you know what? Mench is going to be my guy and we're going to go on and we're just going to be transparent. We're just going to do it our way.
We're going to take people behind the scenes of our scouting process, bring them into, you know, in league offices and scouting departments, what they do and truly have fun with it. Like I've been,
I spent 15 years on the road, you know, leaving on Thursdays, coming back on Sundays, going to, you know, from Knoxville one week to Tuscaloosa the next week and had an absolute blast, but it tore me away from my family a little bit, a lot and more, but it just was a grind and I loved it. But when I kind of came up for air, I was like, the, the media game has changed. the landscape has changed.
I'm watching you clowns, you know, five days a week, having a blast doing what you're doing.
And it was kind of an inspiration. I'm watching, you know, whether it's McAfee or, you know, we're solo and you guys, it just, that seems fun. So we shopped it around, talked to nine different places. Um,
finally found the right i found the right home you know and that's hard to do but i found the right home spotify has gotten behind us we're going video with the podcast three days three days a week tuesdays and thursdays every every week during the college football season we do a show right after the games after the prime time game on saturday nights which i signed up for and i love doing it but now i'm going to bed at one in the morning but um
But, man, I love what I'm doing, and it feels right, and it's the first time in a long time I can actually say that. So it's really cool, and I appreciate you asking.
Totally.
Yeah. Good. You and I talked a lot after I got laid off, and I just – I talked to a lot of people who, who left ESPN or never worked there. And, and ESPN has been wonderful to me. I don't like, I don't regret a minute. I learned so much. They created the, you know, my, who I am, you know, in terms of on air and I don't have a single regret.
And I, I truly, like, I'm not just saying like, I truly appreciate ESPN and everything that it did for me and the relationships I have there are lifelong. Um, Um, but, but this was, uh, when, when presented with this opportunity, it was about being able to do it the right way, in my opinion, being able to do it where it was, it was best for me and my children and my family, and also being able to.
Do it without restrictions. You know what I mean? Of course. You guys have the fun. Your whole thing your entire life is you've been a great sports fan. When I listen to you guys, I hear the passion, the energy. I see the fun. It's contagious, right? And that's why I love listening to your show still to this day.
Um, unfortunately just recently I went into default with one of my student loans and that is through Naviant, which is now Mohella. And what they, uh, offered me was something that's outside of my budget. Um, and my father is a co-signer on the loan as well. And I'm just trying to find out of ways of how I can negotiate something with Naviant to help me make the payments that I can afford.
or what other avenues I can take.
This is a signature student loan.
No. It is private.
Yeah, one moment. Yeah, go ahead.
Since May, so I'd say probably close to six or seven payments.
Right now I have four.
With all those, just shy of $35,000. Okay.
I make per month net pay, I'd make just over $6,000 a month.
She does.
She probably makes less than what I do. I'd say about $3,000. Okay.
Correct.
Yeah, smallest one is just shy of four grand.
No, I do.
Hey, Dave. Thanks for having me. I really appreciate it. Sure.
So I just learned of you a few days ago. My sister listens to you religiously and told me I should call you regarding my situation. Okay. So earlier this year, I went with a debt settlement company to handle much of my debt, which is primarily student loans and credit cards.
Are you sure?
Wait a second. Wait, wait. Aqua aerobics are good for your joints.
If you go to Walgreens and they're out of Werther's, do you stay? No, you go to CVS.
What do you use a canvas tote for? Who would ever use a tote?
Are you talking...
Uh, so Brittany is like, yeah, but like, you know me, this group isn't very supportive of me.
I know, but like last night when I made the announcement, remember that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that was really hard.
No, but like, I give you good news about Jared and me, and I give you good news about my daughters, and it feels like none of you are supportive with the good things in my life. I mean, that's a really, really big deal for me. Have you ever seen the blue corn moon? No?
Put in the work.
He's like, yeah, they're all fine. A couple of them are outside. I'm getting on the porch. Get off my porch, dog. This is not for your space to live.
Yeah, you know what? I'm going to build you a sack of Werther's Originals that you can rest your chin on so you stop bobbing so much.
I'm rich.
