We do have a small team of security forces to back up ICE agents in case things get out of hand.
And if law enforcement continues to respond like they've committed to, then we'll pull that small force out.
Tom Homan says this DHS shutdown really isn't even impacting ICE.
Meanwhile, Senator John Fetterman is breaking from his own party, essentially saying that this partial government shutdown is a waste of time and it's hurting other DHS employees like TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard.
Homan says more than 1,000 immigration enforcement agents have already left and several hundred would be removed early in the week to get back to, quote, the original footprint.
Exceptions beyond that footprint, he said, will include investigators who will stay to finish the probe into allegations of fraud, as well as the protests that had disrupted a church service.
Plus, Holman said an additional security force would stay to protect immigration agents to respond when, quote, they get surrounded by agitators and things get out of control.
He did not specify the size of this force beyond saying small, and he said he hoped this contingent could also be removed fairly quickly.

But masks, you know, while they talk about maybe passing legislation to make it illegal to dox at agents or something like that, but masks right now are for officer safety reasons.
But borders are Tom Homan points to an 8000 percent increase in death threats against ICE officers as the reason for the masks.
Homan also says the shutdown has not impacted immigration enforcement across the country because ICE and CBP are fully funded through the one big, beautiful bill.
Some Republicans have cast Democrat objections to DHS funding as political theater.

I got to give credit to the governor.
