But I'm on SEN right now.
Anyway, thanks for bringing that up.
Yeah, so we said on the pregame yesterday on Channel 7 that the Sydney Swans have offered Todd McCartan a minimum six-year extension.
So he's out of contract at the end of next year.
So this would take him to the end of 2033 at least.
It might be seven years, but I'm just giving you minimum six years.
and then he gets concussed during the game.
Now, he missed nine weeks in 2023 due to concussion, four weeks in 2024, two weeks in 2025, three separate incidents, and now at least one here who missed the game against Port Adelaide.
So that's 16 weeks at least across four years.
We know his family history with concussion.
And the negotiations are very early here.
So just an offer has lobbed to Tom McCartan.
I don't think there's any expectations.
They're just going to sign it straight away.
But your question earlier to Sydney Reneg on that offer is probably a fair one because what's happened in the last couple of years is the AFL has introduced a sliding scale after Angus Brayshaw retired.
So to put it simply, the longer the deals, the less relief clubs get with their salary cap.
So hypothetically, Sydney would get 90% relief in year one, 75% relief in year two, and up to 50% relief in year three.
And then from year four onwards, they would be on the hook in the salary cap for all of it.
So that makes it less...
attractive for clubs to sign players long-term who might have concussion history.
