I know you're a lone wolf yourself with your crimes, but sometimes people get involved in criminal conspiracies, so cry me a river, because we have at least one more where there's two of them.
Alright, so we're kind of done, I think we're done with the financial crimes, for better or worse, and now we're going to get into kind of more other types of crimes, and then we're going to get really weird and depraved toward the end of the episode.
Okay, so stay with us if you're into weird and depraved.
Alright, so...
You ever do time with anyone who is involved in trying to steal money from an automatic teller machine?
The machines themselves or the people refilling them?
Like cracking them open somehow, trying to get the cartridge?
You can see the allure of that crime versus robbing a bank.
I mean, maybe you want to rob a bank and you want the money that's in the bank, but you're not really crazy about terrorizing a bank.
a poor teller and sticking a gun in her face or risking a security guard who happens to be in the bank or a cop in line behind you.
So I see the allure of a ATM burglary.
And that's the story I want to tell you right now.
How would I do it?
The problem, though, is that if you're going to burglarize an ATM, you're still on the hook for basically a bank theft, right?
Stealing from a bank, which makes things federal as opposed to taking money from the vault at the local liquor store, for example.
So we have 53-year-old Abdurahim Jalal.
in DeKalb County, Georgia.
He really wanted to get into the Bank of America ATM at the DeKalb Mall.
It was like his focus.
This was going to be his Mount Everest that he needed to conquer.
