And he really likes me.

He's like, yeah, I'd love to keep working with you.

He calls me and he says, hey, there's a few guys throwing bullpens at my house for the Cubs.

If you want to come and throw, it's like, you know, you can go last or whatever.

You can go after them.

It's like, okay, sure, what's the worst thing that can happen?

So I go, I'm like 93, 94 in this bullpen, like everything looks good.

You know, I meet all the scouts at the Cubs.

And then the next morning they call me and they're like, yeah, we'd like to invite you to spring training.

So this is 2016, like February 4th or something like that.

So only...

a few weeks away from going to spring.

That got me in the door, and yeah, here I am.

I mean, it's definitely exciting, and that's always been my goal.

Ever since I've been in a position to potentially make an opening day roster, that's been the goal.

I want to make the opening day roster.

Last year I was, you know, this close to doing it, and I think I was one of the last guys that they had DFA'd.

And, you know, not obviously hurt, but...

I understood the move and still was determined that I'm going to get my chance to do that, to break with the team.

And even though my spring wasn't very good, it wasn't very good last year either, it's all about working on things and getting better at certain things.
