So The Forced Migration of Aboriginal Women in the 19th and 20th Century is a history that we all need to know about.

It is such a tender book in the way that we get, I think, insight into the incredible lives of these women today.

and their tenacity and their courage.

I was really knocked over by this book, and I hope it's a book that gets a wide readership.

I think it's a book, as difficult as it is, or for some people confronting, I think it's a book that needs to be taught as widely as possible also.

Yeah, just a really quick one.

John Higgs, Lynchian, The Spell of David Lynch, a short book.

It's sort of a long essay possibly.

I mean, I'm fascinated by David Lynch, but regardless, I think the insight into a genuine artist and maverick and his very idiosyncratic ways

ways of engaging with the world, which are obviously apparent in a lot of his filmmaking.

It's really wonderful book, really well written.

And you wouldn't have to know David Lynch to enjoy this book.

Oh, absolutely.

And just to give a point to that, I think my fiction is as informed by music and film as it ever will be by literature.

Yeah and we did so by necessity.

These days I collect as enjoyment but when we were kids I mean the sorts of things that we had to collect were firstly the most basic was firewood and we were lucky that a lot of houses were being demolished at the time so there was a plentiful supply of scrap wood.

Usually it would be large planks of wood that you know two or three of us would need to carry home

And my mum might chop the wood up, but often it was a case of just sticking the end in the fire.

And as the plank burnt down, he just pushed more of it into the fireplace.
