Cheryl's mom, who wanted nothing.

She was sick.

She was battling cancer.

She was maybe the nicest woman I've ever met in my life.

You know, all she wanted to do was see justice before she passed away, and she was getting a lot older, and I think she kind of knew her health wasn't going to hold up much longer, and unfortunately she did pass away, and she never got to see any type of justice, and that just, you know, that just really, really sucks.

So...

It's had a huge impact on the community, the police department.

I don't work for the police department any longer, but I don't have any type of negative things to say about them.

They were great when it came to this investigation.

They wanted to see closure just as much as I did as a whole.

Sometimes things don't always go your way.

Every detective has a story, as cliche as it is, but every detective has a case that they just can't ever seem to shake, and this is mine.
