and takes out this AK and just from not that far of a distance, I mean, probably less than 30 feet, and just starts, you know, popping off rounds at this guy, you know, rifle rounds at this deputy.

And by the grace of God, the guy's never hit or anything like that.

I mean, his cruiser's just riddled with bullets.

but he's never hit.

So they take Sterling into custody for shooting at the deputy.

Now he's in custody for a whole unrelated matter that has nothing to do with our investigation.

So I get the call Saturday morning that, hey, this guy's in custody.

He's down in Spartanburg.

You need to get down there and start interviewing him and things like that.

So essentially that morning,

I reach out to the prosecutor's office in Montgomery County, which is a county that Riverside's in, says, hey, there's like a cellular phone data guru guy.

His name's Kevin Horan.

He works for the FBI.

Call him and see what he can do to help you in this case.

And it's one of the best phone calls I've ever made before because this guy's a genius.

He's like one of only like seven experts in the FBI that's certified to do.

He's what they call a CAST agent.

And don't ask me what the acronym for CAST is because I already forgot what it is.

But basically he analyzes cellular data, you know, cell tower data and things like that.
