But again, I'm thinking, what is this tarp doing?
Did it exist or did it not?
That's, I'm just, I'm pulling back, I'm peeling back the layers of this deeper conspiracy, but basically the doctor's saying that they had so much THC in their system that they were unable to hear the horn of the train approaching them.
Now, I'm not a medical expert, nor an expert on drugs of any kind, but it is said in our research that THC can worsen things regarding hearing like tinnitus over time.
There's no evidence to suggest that THC can eliminate hearing completely in the short term.
So not hearing the blaring train horn approaching you feels a little strange.
So local authorities were inclined to believe Malick's consensus.
They didn't question it whatsoever.
But I think it's important to note that this ruling was generally unaccepted by both Henry and Ives' families and by the general public.
So immediately the public is sniffing this out as a little fishy and the only people buying this 20 joint kind of almost THC overdose kind of theory are the authorities themselves.
So questions began to arise.
For example, how the boys could be coherent enough to neatly lie on these tracks symmetrically, but not be able to hear the train's horns as it was approaching.
True.
Good point.
So during the trial, toxicologist Dr. James Garriott and Dr. Arthur McBray both testified before a grand jury that anyone falling unconscious from THC overuse was essentially unheard of.
Them going into a deep, deep, like, listen, I'm sure if you have enough THC in your system, you're going to get tired and probably fall asleep.
We're talking about unconscious, right?
Like shake them, rattle them and roll them and they're going to stay asleep kind of thing.
So they also criticized Dr. Malik because he did not perform a mass spectrometry, which would have been the most effective in their opinion test for determining the amount of drugs in one's system.
Now going back to it, it's kind of unclear what test Dr. Malik did perform instead, especially if it's giving him the inclination that they have 20 joints worth of THC in their system.
