And in addition to that, the EMT officers who responded to the scene questioned the ruling of an accidental death.
They stated that the blood found on the bodies of the boys was dark, as if it lacked oxygen, right?
Which would lead them to believe that they might have already been dead or bleeding prior to the accident with the train itself.
Basically saying, it seems like the bodies were already bloody beforehand.
Why?
But that didn't seem to get heeded, listened to, or pursued in any way.
It's one of those frustrating moments where we go with hindsight.
Why aren't we chasing all these things?
In fact, I don't even want to say hindsight.
In the moment, people are saying, why aren't we chasing this down right now?
Yeah.
You know, authorities are sticking to Dr. Malik's kind of disposition on the drug testing.
And that's where they're staying firm.
Now to throw a wrench into this new line of thinking for the case, Saline County Sheriff James Steed agreed also with Dr. Malik.
He reportedly told Benton Courier, which was a local newspaper, that there was nothing at the scene of the crime to suggest that it was anything more than what he called a strange accident.
So now, again, it feels like there's this wedge driven between essentially like the local police and everybody else.
Linda Ives, mother of Kevin, published a letter in the same courier criticizing Steed's administration and how they were handling this case.
