Fearing that their trade agreements were at risk, the company, the East India Company, decided to compensate the Mughals for what was stolen.

Here's the damages.
In addition, they vowed to bring the pirates to justice.
And then, of course, the search ensued.
And so this is actually again, I'm glad you mentioned the movie, but like it's why you have tensions between the East India Company and pirates.
There is literal factual history within that.
And it's why that guy, the short king, who is actually like the good guy, bad guy.
Yeah, because he's like capitalist king of East India Trading Company.
He's branding pirates.
And so they can never escape who they are.
Right.
So anyway,
They pay reparations, and they themselves are going, we're going to find these guys.
And I think at this point, you know, they're they're making so much money controlling the world and the trade routes that I'm sure it's not even about the money anymore.
Yes, it is, of course.
But really, it's about making sure heads roll because you want to send a message.
Yeah, I was about to say a statement, right?
Yes, which is understandable because if you, a rogue individual who used to work for the Royal Navy, now kind of disenfranchise yourself and run off with your own crew of other kidnapped individuals, who's to say you don't inspire copycats?
And then you create all these international tensions because you're just a man without a flag at that point.
