I've never actually, I was trying to think when I was watching it, I've never, unless you count This Is Us, of course, I've never quite seen a show do it this way.
I don't know that a, a prestige show can have too much heart.
Fogelman, everything he does has a lot of heart.
He's a heart guy.
And that's kind of how he believes in television.
Even like Crazy Stupid Love, which is a rom-com, you would think that it's the rom-commiest of all rom-coms, but it's got just so much heart to it.
Everybody's invested emotionally into what they're doing, which is why they're doing it.
But like, if this...
There's so much emotionality that kind of the entire narrative is built on that I think sometimes that takes people out of the prestige thing.
I think prestige can be oriented around violence.
It can be oriented around high concept.
It can be oriented around premise.
But if it's too oriented around heart, then it's not going to work.
You wouldn't consider...
Despite how much people love the show, you wouldn't consider Ted Lasso.
I'm not saying this is Ted Lasso.
Ted Lasso is actually Will Schmalzer.
You wouldn't consider that to be a prestige show.
However, The Bear, which doesn't have very much heart at all, but has a lot of emotionality that's through desperation and through this feeling of destiny and intensity, that speaks more to...
Like what people would say is prestige to me.
