None of this witness's stories ever added up.
So why not doubt her truthfulness?
Again, the unwillingness of the magistrate to cast any of the complainants in an unflattering light becomes more than evident.
And moreover, when did it become acceptable that a magistrate makes up and indeed offers alternative evidence for a witness?
that in this case, C2 may have witnessed something from another position in the theatre, in this case, the wings.
The magistrate had no knowledge of the sight lines or wing space in that production.
The wings, as she said herself, is not evidence that was presented in the case.
Since when has it become practise for a ruling officer of the court to offer up excuses for a complainant who so obviously misled the police and the court?
Brave and honest.
Verdict.
Not guilty.
The questions I will leave you with are these.
How did an onstage gesture that was part of the directed scene ever become an allegation of assault?
Why weren't the so-called eyewitnesses investigated properly by the Victorian police before the DPP lay charges?
How could C1 continue such a close friendship with Craig for years afterwards, a friendship with her alleged assaulter?
What sort of a world do we now live in, where a person will come forward years later and suggest that an assault occurred whilst never even mentioning it to the alleged perpetrator at the time, never mentioning it to the management at the time, never mentioning it to her husband at the time, never mentioning it to her friends at the time?
Perhaps we could consider that C1 was never invited back to be a part of the Rocky Horror Show again, not in 2015, not in 2017-18, and that even though she applied for the most recent Rocky Horror Show tour in 2024, she was again not cast.
And what of her belief that Craig told lies and f***ed her reputation?
And her statement to press that none of the onstage stuff worried her, i.e.
the alleged assaults.
